Starting with Lilium rubellum (Rosy Lily) and L. dauricum (Candlestick Lily) in mid June, many kind of world lily bloom until late September. In July pure white L. candidum (Madonna Lily) and L. martgon (Martagon Lily), which is said to be the world's most widely distributed, bloom and after those, L. japonicum (Sasa Yuri), which is endemic to Japan, follows. It is also mid July that about 15,000 L. regale (Regal Lily) make their community white with their flowers. The vivid coloured Central Garden and the Star-Shaped Garden are at their best in early and mid July. In early August L. auratum (Gold band lily) and Aurelian Hybrids, and in mid August Oriental Hybrids start blooming. From late August through late September, L. speciosum (Showy lily) and L. formosanum (Takasago yuri) bloom and they mark the end of the flower season of the World Lily Garden which lasts four months.
